US Journalist Recover from Ebola

NBC cameraman, Ashoka Mukpo was reporting from Liberia with Dr. Nancy Snyderman when he became symptomatic and was officially diagnosed with the disease on October 2.

Mukpo was treated with experimental drug, brincidofovir and also received a blood transfusion from survivor, Dr. Kent Brantly.

Mukpo tweeted on Tuesday, October 21

“The knowledge that there’s no more virus in my blood is a profound relief,” “I’m so lucky. Wish everyone who got sick could feel this.”

“Recovering from Ebola is a truly humbling feeling,” “Too many are not as fortunate and lucky as I’ve been. I’m very happy to be alive.”

He also added that he has no idea how he got infected but he doesn’t regret going to Liberia.

Mukpo is one of eight Americans to be diagnosed with Ebola, all of whom have survived.
